Trina Hart Nichols began originating mortgage loans in Missouri in 2003. Since then, she has developed a reputation for competent, conscientious advocacy for homeowners across the state of Missouri and now the great state of California as well. She is consistently in the top 1% of loan officers for the nation’s largest wholesale lender, earning lots of benefits that she can leverage to enable fast, flawless closings for her clients.
In late 2020, Trina set out on her own to launch Nichols & Company with the help of long-time business partner & spouse Mike Nichols in their beloved historic Central West End neighborhood in the city of St. Louis. Today, Mike manages all things that aren’t mortgage origination: the financial, technical, creative, and administrative work that goes on behind the scenes to keep Trina’s team focused and efficient.
In May of 2021, Trina found her right hand and closing coordinator Jacob Mattes. Originally hailing from Chapin, Illinois; Jacob brought his experience from the legal and real estate fields to bear in coordinating all the dates, documents, and stakeholders for smooth closings and happy clients. Jacob lives in historic Soulard and can often be spotted with office regulars Clark and Kingston the Schnauzers.
My clients, plain and simple, are the secret to my success. Of course it’s important to be able to offer the deep expertise I’ve spent nearly 20 years crafting, but even more impactful to my business are the clients that choose to share me with their friends and loved ones. The word “grateful” just doesn’t seem big enough to describe how I feel every single time that happens.

In June of 2022, we welcomed the third Nichols to the team with Application Coordinator Cooper Nichols. Matriculated in Finance at Mizzou, this Saint Louis University High alum is excited to join the family business and become the next generation of Nichols to empower home buyers and owners to keep it simple and save money on their mortgages in Missouri and beyond. Welcome, Cooper!
Last and effectively least , Eleanor Figby came to us as a knee-high youngster and now brings a special kind of vibe (and also oxygen) to the office as VP of Fiddle-leaf Figgery.
